The master school was founded in 1997 and closed in 2022. The sponsor of the course was the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts, which now doesn't offer this course any more. We say many thanks to the Chamber of Crafts for the very good partnership in 25 years. The course was held entirely in the Dombauhütte in Soest, Walburgerstraße 56, for the practical and theoretical parts. The theoretical lessons took place in the training room, the practical lessons in the workshop of the building lodge. Accordingly, these specialist parts were finally examined here by the master craftsman examination board. The focus of the course was on design theory and design, manual stone processing, as well as on structural engineering, building chemistry and building physics.
The following subject areas are included in the participants' various project work:
* Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen (VOB) = German Construction Tendering and Contract Regulations
Lecturers are trade and university teachers, experienced self-employed persons from the respective departments as well as heads of friendly cathedral building lodges. The team of lecturers and the examination board are not separated from each other in principle. There is close cooperation with the Landesinnungsverband des Steinmetz- und Bildhauerhandwerks Westfalen-Lippe. HWK-Dortmund / Training Centre Ardeystraße 93 - 95 44139 Dortmund Tel: 0231/5493-500
The master craftsmen work on practice pieces for the master craftsman's examination in the workshop of the Dombauhütte, which is located right next to the training room building.
